Perhaps you were hasty in your google search or are not yet skilled in searching (to know that many times the top links are not what you are looking for). I believe this it totally incorrect and that he lives in Kona. Thank you and sorry to all who were given inaccurate information from 's site.**"We did a google search on hawaiidan and he lives in Honolulu, Oahu, not the island of Hawaii!" Nor do our virtual tours and still photos show us to be a "dump". They apparently chose to rent a larger car.īeing only 18 miles south of Kailua-Kona, with restaurants at 2 miles away and a supermarket only 5 miles away, plus shops, gas stations, etc. If that couple had rented the type of car we recommend they would NOT have bottomed out. Regarding the gal that said our road was a "nightmare" she and her partner were WELL informed of the fact that it is partially unpaved road, not steep nor treacherous, and a bit over 1/2 mile long before they booked the Cottage. We encourage you to please read posts from people who have stayed with us and then contact us if you have any questions, concerns or doubts. They can email them at random and get candid testimonials. Last year we had 5 very positive posts from guests who HAVE stayed here, however TA.com has apparently purged them.Īny interested party can simply email us and we'll provide them with a guest list of at least 25 couples. The closest description would be we are a botanical garden and coffee plantation. Our couples don't usually come in contact with us nor our other guests the entire time of their stay. They are not lined up in a row, nor do we have ag sheds everywhere. The occupants of each Cottage do NOT see each other's Cottage. Re: the second negative post, our Cottages are NOT crowded, but are separated by many many yards of space and landscaping. We did a google search on hawaiidan and he lives in Honolulu, Oahu, not the island of Hawaii! He's never been a guest nor come over to see for himself what we are about. Today we have written to TA.com to remove both posts. Steve and I are absolutely outraged at the two inaccurate posts besmirching our Cottages, establishment and reputation.īoth negative posts offer completely false information and opinions, not facts, from people who have NEVER stayed her nor have come to see our place in person. Hi Gracie & all other potential guests, this is Susan at Bwana Bob's. All the LE's are volunteers and the opinions given are personal but NOT based on financial interest, and it's insulting that you would even go there when someone is trying to help you out, IMHO* *on a side note, it is REALLY annoying when posters jump straight to the conclusion that LE's have some financial interest behind the recommendations. So I would say, do your homework about what there is to do in this area, does it fit with your plans? If you plan to do a lot in Kaiula-Kona and the beaches up north, this location is poor. Recently the "crawl" between the coffee towns and Kailua-Kona was on the front page here.įor the sake of those who have to live and work on these limited roads, it would be so much better if visitors would pick lodgings that are really in the area they plan to spend their time instead of doing all this driving, especially in this area. I stayed there in the late 90's when the traffic was nothing to drive to Kona. I haven't stayed there but I've stayed in Honaunau, and it did get boring.
